BUILDING BLOCKS OF

ASHLAR HOMES

The building of every home is a unique experience, we do our best to tailor the process in such a way that you have knowledge of the steps we are taking to provide a quality home that reflects great craftsmanship and design.

CONTRACT

The contract represents the formal agreement between you, as the buyer, and Ashlar Homes. This document will confirm the agreed selling price of the product, neighborhood/lot, and specific plan along with structural options for your home.  Once your contract is processed, you will receive a invitation to join Builder Trend, this is our project management software which will help you to begin the selection process.

PERMITTING AND SELECTIONS - First 30 Days After Contract Signing

Once you accept the invitation to Builder Trend, you will have 30 days to make design selections with our approved Designer at Everleigh Design Studio in Blue Springs, Mo.  To make your design and selection experience in the all that it should be, please allow four hours for this appointment.

For changes made during your appointment that were not listed in your original contract, you will receive a change order notification through Buildertrend with details on the change and costs associated with them.  You will have the opportunity to approve or decline these changes, but only approved changes will be completed by Ashlar Homes.

In addition, during this time we will be making plan revisions, preparing your homesite and applying for the appropriate building permits

PLANNING "ZOOM" MEETING

This meeting will happen after you have completed your selection appointment at Everleigh Design Studio.  During the meeting, you will be confirming all aspects of the home.  This will include the plan drawings, selections,  cabinet plans, electrical placement (TV’s, phones, special lighting) etc.  You will meet via a "ZOOM" video call with Amy Brown, our Purchasing Coordinator.  If you need assistance using Zoom, one of our
Ashlar Homes Sales Representatives will be happy to assist you.

FOUNDATION - FRAMING - MECHANICALS

At this phase, we understand that this is an exciting stage and that you will be curious. However, the job site can be a dangerous location during this process due to the construction that is taking place. We ask that you only visit when accompanied by one of our Ashlar Homes Sales Team representatives.

SHEET ROCK - TRIM - CABINETS - FLOORING

Once the cabinets and trim are completely installed, your closing date will be set by your project manager.  Please know that we make every attempt possible to meet your original close date, although delays out of our control may happen.  If we run into this situation,
your closing date will be adjusted accordingly.

NEW HOME ORIENTATION AND PRE-CLOSING WALK - ONE WEEK BEFORE CLOSING

You will receive an invitation about a month in advance through Buildertrend for this and the Final Walk appointment.  It is very important that you make every effort to attend this meeting at its scheduled time, not doing so may delay closing. 

In this block, you will meet with Dana Webb our Quality Control and Warranty Supervisor.  At this time, we will have a list of things that have been identified as requiring attention prior to closing.  This is called a punch list.  During the orientation you will have the opportunity to add items to the punch list that need to be addressed.  Dana will also go over the operating systems in your new home. 

This appointment is held during the week between 7:30am and 3:00pm

FINAL WALK THROUGH

You will meet with Dana Webb one last time to confirm that the punch list is complete and receive information on your warranty.  Please load the Buildertrend App on your phone before this meeting.

We are also committed to keeping to a schedule that will get you into your dream home as quickly as possible. We depend on the buyer to meet all deadlines for selection appointments and walk-through meetings.  

This Final Walk will be scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30 pm. It is usually completed right before
closing.

CLOSING & KEY DELIVERY

After you have your final walk, you will meet at the title company where you will sign the final paperwork to make this house officially your new home.   Congratulations & Welcome to the Ashlar Homes family.

We depend on the buyer to meet the deadlines for selection appointments and walk through meetings. This will allow Ashlar Homes a greater chance at meeting the set closing date. These appointments will need to be scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30 pm.
