Tis’ the Season to pause and enjoy the beauty of Kansas City with family and friends! Ashlar Homes believes in building community, intentionally developing our neighborhoods with proximity to our amazing city’s many attractions. These Top 6 Holiday Events in Kansas City made our list for the perfect way to celebrate the season and to fall [back] in love with our great city. Grab your family. Make plans with friends. Gather up the grandchildren. And, take advantage of one of the many things to do in Kansas City this Holiday Season!

Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market Holiday Mart. For one day on December 10th from 4-8pm you can shop locally at the Downtown Lee’s Summit Holiday mart. Support local and find something unique for family or friends (or both!) 220 SE Green St, Lee's Summit, MO

Santa's Wonderland. Cabela’s has transformed its store into a Winter Wonderland for all to enjoy. It’s free and entertaining for hours with activities for the kids to enjoy. The Wonderland is open from November 11, 2022 - December 23, 2022 and runs from 5-9 pm 7 days a week. Cabela’s is located on 10300 Cabela Drive, Kansas City KS 66111.

Crown Center Holiday Choirs. Get into the gift-giving spirit by shopping and listening to carols! Crown Center Shops hosts 90 area school, and church and community choirs to perform throughout the day through December 18th. Take a break from shopping and enjoy a bite to eat with family and friends at one of the many great local favorites including Fritz’s and the new Burnt End BBQ. 

While there, take some laps around the Ice Terrace! The outdoor ice skating rink is open most days starting at 10 am. Times vary so we suggest checking the website at https://www.crowncenter.com/iceterrace.

Knights of Lights: A Renaissance Christmas Extravaganza. The Renaissance Festival is not just for the Fall this year! The festival has been transformed into a display of lights, entertainment, food and fun and is open from 5:30-10 pm. This feast includes an Italian 3 course dinner for two, complete with dinner, wine, and dessert all under lights and in a heated igloo! Christmas at Union Station. Over the years, Union Station has done a great job celebrating the season and this year is no different. It has become one of the top destinations for experiencing holiday cheer in Kansas City! Stop by the historic building and take pictures at one of many photo opportunities, see the largest indoor holiday tree, walk through the “Holiday Reflections”, catch a holiday play or performance, and much more! https://unionstation.org/holidays/

Kansas City Light Tour. Who doesn’t love a good holiday light tour? Turn up the Christmas music, load up your car, fill the thermos with hot chocolate, and tour the many light displays that have become so popular over the years! We’ve made it easy with this list of some of our KC favorites:

Don’t feel like venturing out every night? There are so many fun things to do in your Ashlar home! Try a family game night complete with Eggnog and Popcorn. Or call up some of your neighbors and do an ornament exchange. What better time of year than to connect with your neighbors or meet some new ones. Or want a quiet night at home? Snuggle up in the family room and watch one of the classic Christmas movies. Some of our favorites include Elf, A Christmas Story, Miracle on 34th Street, The Noel Diary, and of course, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas!
